Registered Nurse / Lead Nurse

Carmen has a true heart for all of her patients. Her gentle touch in starting IV's and her dedication to excellence make her an amazing nurse. She comes to us with many years of patient centered experience. Carmen has vast experience in the traditional hospital setting and now in our functional integrative clinic. She brings a deep understanding and loving prospective to her position. Each patient is her top priority and she always gives 110%

Joana Bates

Med. and Treatment Rooms Logistics Coordinator

Joana is an amazing young lady, extremely wise and talented beyond her years. She has been working with Dr. Winkler since 2011. Jo is the Coordinator for our Med. Room and Treatment Rooms, as well as serving in the capacity of MA. Her professional, caring ways bring a special comfort to each patient as she cares for them. Our team is very lucky to have her as a member, and we most certainly would be completely lost without her!

Claudia Campos

Lab Associate

Claudia got her Medical Assistant degree at UEI and is an exceptional asset to our team. She loves helping people and joining them on their health journey. She is always open to answering questions and helping however she can. Claudia is efficient and organized in keeping our lab running smoothly and assisting patients with various treatment modalities.  We are grateful to have such a wonderful MA on our team!

Melinda Lopez

Receptionist /
Front Desk Associate

Melinda is our newest addition to our administrative staff. She comes to Quantum Functional Medicine highly qualified to handle any and all situations with the greatest ease and a comforting smile. After 23 years in the Northern California Bay Area, where she raised her son (a gifted musician who uses his music for healing, health, and positivity) she returned to Southern California and has joined our team. She brings with her over 25 years in customer service in the fields of banking, finance, and real estate. Although her previous professional experience has not been in the field of medicine, she has always had a deep rooted, spiritually guided interest in health and wellness education, physical fitness, nutrition, kinesiology and all the functions of healing our bodies. Melinda has a great passion to help others (as well as herself) to seek spiritual and physical health. She delights in helping people to enter into (and grow in) a relationship with Christ Jesus. (Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. -Psalm 37:4 NIV).

Yoselin Mata

Front Desk Associate

Yoselin got her Medical Assistant degree at UEI. She is one of the first people you see when you enter our clinic. As you step up to our front desk she will greet you with her beautiful smile. Yoselin is soft spoken and has a wonderful way of caring for all patients and their family members. You can see and feel her joy in serving shine through in each interaction whether in person and on the phone.  We are very overjoyed to have her on our team!

Jan French

Executive Assistant

Jan is AWESOME in all ways! She is an excellent organizer, a skilled multi-tasker who joyfully serves the staff and patients each day. Her calm, peaceful spirit sets a tone for everyone in the clinic, as she uses her vast experience, wisdom, and discernment to carry out a wide range of projects. She is well qualified to handle any assignment that might come her way, and we are extremely blessed that she has chosen to join our Staff!

Shelly Winkler

Support & Utilities

Shelly is a multitude of marvelous things! She is an exceptional Registered Nurse, a strong prayer warrior, and kind, understanding and wise support to patients, and their families, as well as to each member of the staff and our staff families. One of the many titles which she holds is wife and chief support to Juergen Winkler, MD. Together Shelly and Dr. Winkler have three amazing daughters.

Jan Funchess

Communications Director / Clinic Administrator

Jan earned her Bachelor’s degrees from Missouri Western State University and brings unique skills and caring gleaned from 44 years of experience in various roles of Director, Administrator, Educator and Counselor. She is a member of AACC and has worked with Dr. Winkler since 2008 in various capacities: Office Manager, Lifestyle Counselor, Patient Coordinator, Clinic Administrator and now as Communications Director. She also serves on the advisory board and as a guest speaker for the Vista Adult School Medical Program. Jan is always happy to help and loves interacting with patients and their families. Like each of our staff members at Quantum Functional Medicine, she is an intricate part of our exceptional team.

Teri Lind

Registered Nurse (PRN)

Teri has been on our team since day one of Quantum Functional Medicine. She has been an RN since 1984. Having worked in both the traditional and the functional medical settings she brings a unique understanding and prospective to her position. She loves working with patients and it shows in her cheerful and tender approach to each patient interaction.

Morgan Rich

Scribe

As one of the newest additions to our staff, Morgan serves as scribe to Dr. Winkler, as well as providing ancillary services to our patients. She was born and raised in Southern California and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at University of San Diego, California. Morgan started her career in medicine assisting in the treatment of animals, which lead to her a vast background in veterinary medicine. It was while working with a European holistic equine vet that applied alternative practices, such as mesotherapy and PEMF to his patients that she discovered her love for functional medicine. His practice of holistic medicine served to pique her interest in exploring the functional integrative model of practicing medicine in human health care. Since then, Morgan has been working alongside of Dr. Winkler and the Quantum Functional Medicine staff in lovingly caring for our patients. She has plans to continue her education to obtain her doctorate, and her experiences here are helping her to decern which avenue she will pursue her doctorate in. When Morgan is not at work, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking with her border collie, and gardening.
